"Professional stock repair"
GI 101683830
I am taken aback by some of these condition descriptions. |
I sure wish they would have timed the screw on the stock repair
|
The DEVIL is in the detail on this one. In a variety of ways.
|
There are some winners out there for sure. Some diamonds in the rough too. Not all frogs turn into princesses though

One of our members has this for sale , Just saying !!!!
|
Just pulled up the listing and the seller is a good guy to deal with.
|
I have seen acrylic stock repairs that matched the color and grain that were virtually undetectable. The "artist" however had no intention of deceiving anyone as to what was done. As to the GI listing, I've seen much worse for more. The stock has extremely nice wood depth on the right side. I see silver barrels. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The gun IMHO will sell and the new owner will be happy to begin their project.

Bruce I agree with every word you have written. I looked long and hard. It was the turn of phrase that caught me up.

I did a little cleaning and checking of this gun for the seller and I would not hesitate to shoot the heck out of it. As far as the repair reference I believe it was intended to state the soundness of the structural repair not necessarily appearance.
For the asking price what is the expectation? |
The price will be lowered in a friendly negotiation and both parties will be happy with the transaction, end of story. That's what buying and selling guns is all about. A talented wood man can install a wood fillet at the cheeks and make that repair disappear.
