PARKER BHE 12 GA 3 FRAME
5 Attachment(s)
I'm basically a small guage guy. I no longer hunt ducks and never really did turkey. Yet, when I saw this gun on GI, I liked it and something in me just had to have it. It has 32" barrels with 2 7/8" chambers (for 3" shells). choked M/F. 14 1/4" LOP to the SBP and DAH of 2 1/4". It's wieght is 8lbs 10.5 oz. It isn't prestine or a benchmark but an honest gun. I just thought I would share.

Nice one Bob. I especially like the floor plate engraving.
I think you need to get back into duck hunting. . |

Thought I would add this.

What a beautiful and unique high grade Parker. I'll also bet it would swing well and absorb any recoil for some high dove loads. Whatever you use it for, it would just be a pleasure to have a gun like that in hand.

some people have all the luck.....fine gun I too thinks its time to go duck hunting again.....charlie

Nice gun Bob, I really like that one a lot. The trigger plate is exceptional. We have seen that little extra added embellishment in the nose comb, flute area before on graded guns. Congrats !

Wonderful gun!! Love the trigger plate engraving. What is the vintage of the gun? Just wondering if it was from the time of the bulk or dense smokeless powder specified loads or if it was late enough to be in the progressive burning smokeless powder, high velocity loads -- Western Super-X, Peters High Velocity, etc., mid 1920s.

Dave, the gun was made in 1922.

Just in time for the introduction of the Western Super-X. This Western Cartridge Co. ad in the October 1922, National Sportsman is the earliest I've found discussing the Super-X load --
Attachment 97026 This ad introduces the 16-gauge Super-X load. I suspect there are earlier ads for the Super-X load, but I've yet to find them. |
That is a beauty, congrats. Is that a JG stamp? I have one on my 16 "0" frame. Jim Gerry??? I'll have to look it up in TPS later.
