CONSECUTIVE NUMBERED PAIR
Did anyone here get the consecutive numbered pair of 12 gauge VHE's in last weekend's Greg Martin auction? What kind of premium would a consecutuive numbered pair demand? The guns were not pristine and I believe had 30 inch barrels that had been refinished.

In my opinion a true "pair" not only needs to be consecutively numbered but also must have been originally ordered by the same person and nto have been made to that person's requirements and there needs to be empirical data or evidence of such. Others may have different opinions. My guess would be the value of each gun on its own merit, combined and with a "pair" premium of 20% or greater. JMHO

Dean-
I think there has to be some emphasis on the "and greater" in your percentage guesstimate. One collector I know has a beautiful true pair of D grade guns (cased, I think) with a third set of matching barrels- all confirmed in the letter. Parker did some amazing things! |
