Something different that caught my eye...

A couple days ago I stop by our local gun shop on the way home from work and saw this. The owner/friend usually gives me a good deal, and he did. Took this Tobin 12 out today and tried it out. Had a good time, just wish there were more birds. I regret missing the ones I did while getting use to this gun. I'm dialed in now, this was made for long shooting. Can anyone date this? I'm thinking 1904 - 1909? #4443

The Black Diamond Model was not shown in the 1906 or 1907 Tobin Arms Manufacturing Company catalogs. It was introduced in this flyer --

So far your gun is the lowest serial number Black Diamond Model I've recorded. What is the barrel length for my table of observed Tobins?

As Dave said, you've got a Black Diamond Model from 1908-1909. I just bought a 16 ga 28 in. bbl in the 7000 serial range from a member here and am very pleased with it. Dave, pm me if you want the serial number.

I wasn't sure if it was a Black Diamond. Shoots well, even has cast off. Thanks for the info guys!

There is a Frankentobin on GI now that appears to be a Black Diamond frame with all the other parts from a No. 45E Premium Grade serial number 8452 installed on it?!?

By the way. What is going on here?

None of my Tobin guns have that?

Good catch, I thought it was a pin. I thought maybe there should be a screw there?
