What Grade Is My Parker ?
2 Attachment(s)
My first post so not sure if I got the pictures added right. I have a parker that I am not sure of the Grade. It was made in 1883 with serial number 29956 but no markings over the serial number as to Grade . Think it is a zero or one ? It is a Top Action 10 Gauge 30 Inch Double Barrel Hammer Style, Number 3 Frame, Twist Barrel, Straight Grip, and Plain Metal Butt Plate. Also have a 1907 Parker serial number 141763 with a "V" over the serial number very similar to the one displayed on the Parker Identification Page under Technical Information that also has a "V" over a similar year serial number. Does a "V" mean Grade 5. Cannot find a "V" listed in any of the Grade Information ? Thanks for any help, Best Regards, Floyd :) |
You're right about 29956 but the V is not a Roman Numeral it is the grade, in this case a Grade-0 or VH.

I appreciate that information. Best Regards, Floyd :) |

False alarm, Milton. He didn't say the V was a ten.

But 141762 is not in the serialization book so we really don’t know what gauge it is. Is it in fact a 10 gauge?

I get excited reading about the 10 gauges that don't show up often . |
Milton, the V grade is not in the serialization book, but PGCA has information, probably order book information, on the gun. Unlikely to be a ten, but who knows unless you invest in a letter.
