What does it all mean?

I have looked at the technical info section and understand frame size and barrel weight. I also checked for repair codes and it states that the P.S. means the gun was repaired in June, but no luck on the other stamps. Are they anything that one of you is able to help me with, or maybe there will be an answer when my letter arrives?

PS= Parker Steel
2 15 = 2 pounds 15 oz unstruck/ unfinished barrel weight
JG = Jim Geary (head barrel man/ I have forgotten his offical title but he over saw barrel production)
0= 0 frame
IWW3 or is it LWW3 = repair code, means she went back in FEB 1950 for some repair

Good luck, hope this helps.

John

I dont know what the 15, the B, or the little symbol below JG means. May be one of the other guys can help us out.

The larger 2 and the smaller 15 indicates the barrels weighed 2 lb., 15 oz. before striking but I don't know what the 15 under the left barrel indicates.

It looks like they started to stamp the weight on the wrong side, then caught the error before they stamped the "2".
