Finally did it, joined the 8 gauge club

After years of wanting a 8 gauge double I finally got one today , I have to give thanks to Charlie Cleveland for letting me know about it . I picked it up from Wayne Goerres and Wayne has to be one of the coolest guys to talk about old guns with in person . Its a old Belgian underlever 36" barrels and 14 1/2lbs . It feels to be in general around the size of my #6 frame .

Wayne hooked me up with some reloading supplies as well and a resizing die for the hulls which I greatly appreciate .

She may not win any beauty contest but I still like it.

Craig I took the 6 frame with me for Wayne to see . I figured he would enjoying seeing it in person . He showed me a #3 frame and at first I figured maybe it was a 12 or 16 gauge. After being being used to the 6 frame everything else feels like a upland gun . That #3 frame was still a beauty though .

Im going to take the 8 gauge to the range Tuesday and let it roar .
If it wasnt for work being so busy right now I would try to go after a turkey with it .

He also gave me his Tom Armbrust book on 4 and 8 bore reloading , the pictures in that book alone are great . Plus now I have about 200 hulls and another 100 on the way so I should be good on those for awhile haha .

Yes, that is a good book. I have wound up with two copies

Really all I need now i think is a powder scale a press for the sizing die and some shot . I might also buy another 10 gauge soon . My visit with Wayne may turn out to be expensive lol . Mills theres some beautiful country side over that way alot of rolling hills and grass land . My part of the state is pretty flat .

Took the 8 gauge to the range today on my lunch hour .
Shot some 1 3/4 oz loads of #4 Wayne had . Recoil was very mild more of a slow push and a deep boom .

I tried rotating the pictures correctly but it doesn't seem to work on my phone .
