Facebook Posting that hits it out of the park
Hope this comes thru. Ned is a legend here in northern Michigan. Sorry for all the ads.

I couldn't go beyond FaceBook's "SORRY!" page.
. |
I dunno. Some times, I can send FB posts to non Facebookers, other times, not. sorry this one doesn't go through. It's great piece about the decline in grouse hunting and the causes through the eyes of a retired forester. Also a bunch of good dog stuff.

Yes, I read that somewhere else... could have been FB or it could have been a link in an email.
It's a really good article and it really makes us think. . |
I get the I'm Sorry notice too but I am very interested and I've not seen this elsewhere...can you please provide a summary of the FB post? Or, a usable link to the article?

That I enjoyed immensely. Maybe it is because my track through life has pretty much mirrored his - a lifetime in the woods at work and play. I don't know Ned but I wish I did.
|
I also enjoyed that. I often times wonder what things will be like when my son is old enough to hunt. He is three. I grew up in Pennsylvania and heard stories of frequent limits despite the lack of dogs, knowledge, or abundant shooting skill. When I started hunting there were a lot more birds around than today. I moved to Minnesota in 2007 and have seen the decline firsthand. I just hope there is enough around when he is old enough to share my passion.

Enjoyed the read. As Ned said, I admit wondering how many seasons I have left in me. I know Charlie has seen her last full on pheasant hunting days. She is healthy but for being wracked with arthritis. Best bird dog I’ve had the pleasure to hunt with. Top pic is Charlie at 7 weeks. Middle pic about 3 years old and bottom at a tender 12 years. http://parkerguns.org/forums/picture...pictureid=1356
