Greetings. My father-in-law gave me this Parker Single Barrel Trap shotgun (189123) a few years ago, and being a neophyte I shot it a few times and left it in the safe. After doing a little research, I realized what a wonderful gift it really was!
Unfortunately I disassembled it and then found the forearm wouldn't lock into place. I reached to Larry DelGrego, who repaired it and shipped it back today. I am new to this community, and am not sure how to grade it or value it. Any comments/advice would be much appreciated. Thank you. |

 Very nice gift!

A nice SC which is a C grade.
It looks like it has been to the Del Grego shop before judging by the case color. . |

Looks like a very nice SC. My advice is to take it to a trap field and break a whole bunch of targets with it.

Your father in law must think highly of you to gift you one of these. Parker didn’t make many and for that reason they are prized.

Thanks everybody for these prompt replies! Sadly, my father-in-law, may he Rest In Peace, passed three years ago. Honesty I don’t think he knew a lot about it the Parker, he was a duck hunter (president of Ducks Unlimited around twenty years ago), and did not care to shoot trap. I believe the gun was given to him by his senior law partner in the 60’s, and was rarely if ever shot. In his later years, he had a “gun giveaway” for Christmas for his sons-in-law and I also ended up with a nice Citori, a 300 Win Mag FN Safari rifle and a Colt Trooper Mk3.
A classy gentleman and great father and grandfather-he is missed. |

We had a major gun giveaway in our family a few years ago. Linda's husband had passed away and a few years later, her dad passed away. Both were serious hunters and her husband was also a clay target shooter. Luckily, Linda's two sons were also hunters and were there to receive the benefits. It was a great family day and I went home empty handed, my decision. Linda took her dad's early five screw Smith and Wesson Combat Masterpiece in a beautiful Heiser holster rig. The boys went home with the rest.
