Parker Upgrade

I have a Parker upgraded by Pachmayr in the 80's to Grade 9 Invincible. It is a side lock, and I have found just a few of his Pachmayr upgraded Invincibles online, but all are box locks.
I would like to know if the "side lock" I have was a unique or limited number for that type of upgrade. I would attach a photo, but I am a new member and have not mastered the thread attachment protocols.
Thank you for any assistance......

Hey we're not finished with your post on the hunting loads in titanic barrels yet, be patient :rotf:

Pachmayr did a lot of strange, even "over the top" things to Parkers (yours being one of them) and I've seen pictures of one 'sidelock' Parker that came from his shop. As you probably know, Parker never made a hammerless sidelock gun and yours has been machined to accept specially made 'lockplates'.

Or it could be false sideplates I have seen that before on a Pachmayr upgrade. Eric

That's what I meant Eric, "false sideplates".

They would not be "false sideplates". They would be "real sideplates".

I'll give you that Bill, but they serve no mechanical purpose. There has always been the 'school' that believes sideplates afford the engraver a larger 'canvas' upon which to display his artistic craft.

Sideplates

In this case it is some beautiful artistic license. I would post a photo if someone provides instruction to a new member.

Gerrydelmonico,

go to the main page (parkerguns.org) and click on the FAQ link on its left side. While in the FAQ page, scroll to the bottom and there you will find a utube-like video on how to load pictures to a thread on this forum.

By the way, there is a Parker Brothers hammerless sidelock gun. I don't remember where to recommend anyone look at it. It was displayed at the PGCA gathering at Richmond many years ago and also at a Gold Medal Concours at Millbrook more recently. It may be pictured in TPS, but I don't know for sure. It is a beautiful high condition gun.
