Another Parker Brother is Gone

Paarker Universe lost a great guy and a good shooter. On January 4 we said goodbye to Chris Griscom. Chris loved shooting his big bore guns and shot them very, very well!! His talent came honestly as his father George was a very good shooter too. We will miss Chris and we pray for his family.

Terrible news. While I didn't know Chris well I remember speaking with him at Rock Mountain and recall him as a good guy whom I enjoyed speaking with. Very sorry to hear that he has passed. My condolences to the family.

Tragic loss for sure. He and his dad were true salt of the earth people. Condolences to the family.

Me too - what a shock!

Chris was a really nice personable guy. What a loss...

Sincere condolences to his family.

Sorry to hear of the passing of another Parker Brother. How old was Chris?

Mike Koneski 01-18-2021 09:56 PM

I don’t know Chris’ age. My best guess would be in his 40s.

I also met Chris while at the Rock Mountain shoot last year and am so sorry to hear of his untimely passing and family tragedy.

Chris followed in the shooting footsteps of his dad, George. In 2010 the late George Griscom won the Fox Collectors Bo Whoop Long Range competition at Hidden Hollow's NE SxS event while using a 28" Fox-Sterlingworth Field Gun he bought that same day, as he told me "a gift for a grandson”. George was suffering with a major illness and despite that he cleaned the clocks of (39) other B-W shooters and using all manner of long range shotguns for score.

Here's a pic of Chris's dad George accepting the Bo Whoop trophy, flanked by Craig Larter on the left and Frank on right. RIP Chris and George.

Chris was 43.

What a shock, I spoke with him for a good while at Rock Mtn this pass fall. First time I had really talked with Chris, of course we were discussing 8 gauges.
May you rest in peace Chris,
condolences to his family,
Stan

Thank you Jimmy for putting up Chris’ age. I just saw your post this AM after finding Chris’ age.
