Restore a T latch ?

I think I have an 1881 T latch lifter. It's in pretty rough shape and I'm thinking about restoring it. Thoughts?

How about posting some pictures and the serial number?

The T-latch action was discontinued long before 1881.

2 Attachment(s)
1. 1881 Top Action mechanism Parker

2. 1878. Lifter Action mechanism Parker.

I do not see many T Latch mechanism Parkers , I think production stopped by mid 1870’s . The T latch and corresponding machined T recess at the top of the breach was a weak form of connection and I have not seen one that was not loose.

I think you're exactly right mine looks like the lower accepted has a Damascus barrel and a really nice pice of wood.

Although mine has a fixed pin not removable.

I'll get some pictures up tomorrow and I'll try to find the serial number. I just got it today I was trying to match up with some pictures that I found on various sites.

The T latch was done by 1869.
