Parker VHE with no frame marking
I was at a local shop today and they have a VHE 12 in the 236xxx range.
This gun appears to be a Del Grego refinish, the strange thing about it is there is no "Parker Bros" on the side of the frame and no "Parker" marking on the bottom of the frame. There is only the line engraving on it. Has any one ever seen this before? Just for the record here is the rest of the description. The barrels would not come off (hook stuck). It is a 26" gun pistol grip, to a buttplate with ejectors, single trigger, and Beavertail. The gun is seriously overpriced. Thanks, Scott |
My vhe20 is like that. No Parker on the frame anywhere. Never even noticed it in 36 yrs until Ed Muderlak picked it up and commented.... and I get paid quite a lot to notice the smallest of details. Go figure. I think these are Remington era guns. They did not obtain the Parker Bros name when they bought Parker. Others know far more than I and will chime in here.

Scott and Rich, 236531 is the first gun recorded as made under Remington management. It was a 26" 28 gauge V Grade. How close is the gun you are interested in?

I think it is 2365xx but I did not record it as I am not interested in the gun even at half the asking price. I will stop back and check it if I get time.

Sounds like a skeet configured gun. Parkers as you describe that one are often referred to as "transition" guns. I have seen a few of them including a high condition GHE 16 ga belonging to a friend.
This gun is also in the 236XXX range. And the engraving looks like Runge's style but I can't be certain. . |
It is 236351 I posted for a lookup to see how it left.

I have seen 235900 and it has no frame markings also.

Very Interesting gun. One of the last guns made under Parker Bros. ownership
