First bird with a Parker...

Greetings to all,

My first post here, so I thought it appropriate to share my first "Parker bird". This nice fat west Kansas rooster was taken with my 16ga Trojan; I own and enjoy several Foxes but this is my first and only (and rather new, to me) Parker. Sadly someone saw fit to polish the receiver at some point, but it didn't bother the performance any; even with me shooting it the gun did just fine:

Best wishes from the prairie!

Phil ;Welcome aboard and congrats. ,that is a fine looking Rooster and a mighty nice Trojan ,my first Parker was a 16 Ga. Trojan also ,couldn't hit anything with it ,the chokes are super tight ,started shooting spreader loads from Polywad and all of a sudden ,I fell in love with Parker shotguns !

HI Brush Buster, Took a "newly acquired" (last fall) VH out with my Springers, Parker, and Buckingham last weekend, missed two birds with the VH before I "patterened " it in the snow, verytight, will have to try the spreader loads. Did shoot one with a "shortened" now 28 inches, was according to the book 30 inch at one point open choked PH which made up for it, got three overall. Still trying for that Double pin. Happy new year, Chip

Happy New Year to you also Chip! If your guns are shooting tight patterns and you don't reload your own ,you can't beat the Polywad Spreader loads ,really makes a guy look like he knows what he is doing with a shotgun ! This is my Trojan 16 with a pair of fat Pa. Roosters ! Russ

Thanks Russ, I will have to try them. The Vh Chokes Improved Mod/Improved Mod. I suspect it was made as Full/Full. I have sent in a request for a letter to see what it was. Where do you get the Polywad loads? Great Picture, Chip
