Charlie,
shot a round of clays yesterday with the gang down here at LVSC, it was a hoot, but I am not revealing the score! Day before went to the range and chrono'd some 16 Ga slug loads with his Labradar, now that is by far the best chrono device I have ever experienced. May have to rob the gun fund to buy one!

Have a good one!

My oldest brother and I went to the range about a week or so ago . He wanted to sight in his stainless rem 700 270 wsm and I bought a cheap 22 wmr semi auto I wanted to test for reliability . I had wanted to take the 10 gauge Parkers there to do some pattern testing . However they had a big sign up banning shotguns, but the ar15 guys who blow the target stands apart is fine by them  .

I was going to order a few cases of RSTs but ended up buying a Winchester XPR .

Ive been browsing prices on other 10 gauge doubles , theres a few interesting ones up for sale I am keeping a eye on .

Yesterday, I got my Dad's old Mossberg 151k .22 rifle out, and sighted her in @ 50 yds.
This is a rifle out of the late 1940s that my Dad bought new. Also, the first firearm I ever fired.
Still has the little cheapie scope. A little foggy, but good enough to get me into under an inch and a half 5 shot groups at 50 yds.

My Remington Model 12 with a peep sight has been keeping marauding rabbits out of the lettuce. I use short hollow points...because my Pop used short hollow points.

the old 8 ga done fairly well today but 6 hits in the can at 70 steps was the best she could do...I shot some of the round ball slugs I had made up ...30 steps is still my best distance with these rounds...still it was a great evening to bust a few caps....charlie

I have a 151K that I got new for $15 in 1967 because an internal issue made it go full auto every time you pulled the trigger. I "eventually" got a replacement part from a 151K a friend pulled from a dumpster to fix it. Sure was fun for a while there!! They are very straight shooters. I've been told that they are a favorite with competitive long-range steel shooters because they're so accurate. I'd guess that if topped with a good scope they would be hell on squirrels.

my old boss man had a Remington 742 model 30-06 go full auto he still got big holes in his laundry room in the cement floor from this issue...my dad bought a luger pistol that when he put the clip in and chambered a round it went full auto...quite nerve racking for sure...I bet the 22 auto was fun...I got to shoot one of those prison guards 22 autos one time it would empty its 150 rounds in a short time it was fun but could be expensive to shoot much even at 22 ammo prices...charlie

I have a model 59 winchester that got to shooting full auto before it was fixed.. Bobby

Full autos are fun.... when you’re using someone else’s ammo.

Thanks Uncle Sam!
