Briley tubes?

I am considering purchasing a set of 28 Ga Briley tubes for my PH 16 ga 1 frame 26" damascus gun.

Wondering what is the experience with the tubes and their chokes. The ultralite set certainly won't add much weight to the gun and the 28 should be nice to shoot for a younger person starting out, and I wouldn't have to worry with the 2 1/2" shells for the 16.

Don't waste money on the ultralight tubes to save a couple of ounces. I have only standard weight 28 gauge tubes in my 16s. They work just great. Look for a gun club who will forward their discount to you. Robert Paxton in Texas has always agreed to split his discount with me and handle the ordering paperwork. He will have the tubes sent directly to you and will not have to handle the barrels or tubes himself, only the money.

Bill,
So you have to send the barrels to Briley to have fitted, correct.
You have a number for Mr. Paxton?

Fitted Briley tubes require you to send barrels to fit. The universal tubes do not, but they won't fit nearly as well. Google "robert paxton guns"

Ditto Bill's comments on the ultralite tubes - I paid extra for them years ago for an O-frame 26" Damascus gun and would not do it again. They are a joy to shoot and have screw chokes to boot; enabled me to shoot the gun again; original barrels were maxed-out with pits; BWT was .011 in one bbl. and .14 in the other!

I have standard 28 tubes bought used from a member which allow me to shoot skeet with my 12 ga. full and full guns. They do add weight which is noticeable to me and effect balance but on the skeet field it may be advantageous.

OK a little off topic here? Maybe not ? I have a 12ga Browning CXS 30 in that my son shoots. Well it's not mine anymore .Was thinking about getting a set of 20g aultralite tubes for him for Christmas. After reading this thread, What do I need to do ? Send barrels to Briley ? Not get the ultralite tubes ? Whats yalls opinon ? I was just going to call Briley an ask, they have always been good to me and I too them $$$!
