203322 Before and After...

Got the barrels back from Breck yesterday. I am amazed ! The dent was just above the left side of the box..There is not trace of the dent that FEDEX was responsible for..one way or another. They would not honor insurance claim in any amount. This gun is the VHE 16 with 32" F/XF chokes. Traces of color. Double ivory beads. Had no safety when I got it in California. Breck did the rust blue, and had his engraver picked the breech engraving. Safety was replaced, the whiteline pad was replaced with an Old English....checkering was recut..and I did the finish with Timberluxe..According to TPS..this is one of 216..and the book shows 3 consecutive SN guns..all identical..

Glad to see the barrels were able to be saved. A few months from now the bitter taste of the FedEx fight will fade away & all will be good when you're shooting this nice sixteen. Besides that you now have a good story to go along with the gun.

Talk about an amazing save!

Who is Breck?

Breck Gorman barrel master, he has done two bernard barrels for me and I would highly recommend him. Kevin he lives in VA

Kevin...Breck Gorman...Crozier, Va. I learned about him from the Forum. He told me yesterday that he just finished relaying a rib on a B hammer gun...and Mills...I know how you like bringing them back from the dead!..This one was still breathing..and well worth saving...

Craig and Jerry, thanks - looks like he is down along the James River - a pretty drive this time of year, even if I don't need any barrel work!

That whole episode with Fedex was very distressing. Never again. I shipped them back to Jerry this time via USPS and took a lot of precautions, 3” pvc pipe, brown paper and bubble wrap, all in a sturdy box. Glad it all worked out.
