VHE Correctness?

18 Attachment(s)
Hi, I am a new member and have been enjoying the wealth of information from the membership. Therefore, I have some questions regarding originality in a refinish. Essentially, I feel the VHE in question has had a quality refinish. However, some items seem incorrect and would have been very easy to keep correct if you are refinishing in any meaningful manner. Tthe forearm lock and tip are blued. Can I assume this is always incorrect? Also, the triggers are blued which seems incorrect for a VHE. If you care to, tell me what items in this refinish are incorrect. Trying to learn.
Thanks in advance!

The only things not correct about the guns work is the blued forend hardware.

The blued triggers are correct for any Parker under D grade.

The case colors are great looking on the gun. All else is in order as well (except the forend hardware). Which is a relatively easy fix if you really wanted to make the gun appear correct.

Nice wood on it too!

Looks to me like a total DTR restoration. Tha nose of the comb is very Parker Reproductionesque.

Welcome to the group Dean. It is nice to see new Midwest members join up. Enjoy that beautiful VHE.

All, thanks so much. Your feedback helps me confirm a variety of questions!

The figure and shape of the buttstock are correct for a Remington gun. The nose of the fore end is also Remington in shape.
I agree with Dean that those look like Turnbull case colors, which I do not care for. They are not remotely like Meriden guns, but I suppose they're much closer to Remington colors.
