Clear powder coat

I ran across this while surfing. I wonder if it would be worthwhile to clear powder coat a receiver to protect the case colors.

Would it be too thick? Would removing the coating be possible?

I guess everybody thought this was a stupid post.

Richard, there's nothing stupid about your post and I think your second post expressed the same thoughts many of us were having. Personally, I think that kind of finish would be too permanent and would seal over the screws and possibly diminish the beauty of the engraving.

Best, Dean
