2019 Parker additions--how about you??

2019 is not over yet BUT???
The year began with the purchase of the Milo B Robertson BH featured in the Spring PP. Member Charlie Wheeler did a great article about the gun and it was for sale for months on GB with no takers. I went to visit the dealer that listed the gun and took it home.
A few weeks later a call from Josh L. "Craig, I have just the gun for you a CH 10ga with 34" damascus barrels". Met Josh at the Baltimore show and it is now in my collection and a picture of the gun is on the PGCA homepage. One hell of a duck slayer!!
Then a DHE 20ga 30" straight grip shows up on GB. A quick letter request (thanks Chuck) the gun was shipped to Dinuba CA in the heart of the duck hunting area (same as the widgeon guns) of California. Now in my collection.
Then a GH 12/30 in great condition from Chuck Bishop, followed by a #1 Frame 12ga CH Bernard from Steve Barnett at the Hausmann's Fall Shoot. Then my good friend Mark Kircher offers me the 1893 World’s Fair CH 12/30 exhibition gun (DGJ Autumn 2017) it is now in my collection. Then a 10 gauge D TL hammer gun 32" #4 frame with no condition that needs some work to make it a shooter from Morphy’s. A 16ga DHE 28" damascus from a PGCA member that is now my pheasant gun and then a DH 12ga 30” on GI that was so cheap I had to buy it. Whew 9 in 2019!!
Sold or gifted 7 two very nice Super Foxes, a beautiful NID Super 10 grade 3, a Parker BHE and a nice NID Grade 3 12ga.. I gifted two guns to my son, a very nice 20ga Sterlingworth 26” and a Fox CE 12/30. So I’m plus 2 for the year how about you?

No way would I follow that performance!!

I bought a very nice high condition DHE 16 with a 30” vent rib, transitional gun with BT. Also a high condition GHE 20, double trigger BT choked IC/F, 26” that is about as close to perfect as you can get for the uplands. And my buddy Mark Kircher sold me a super nice 28 bore VH straight stock 30” barrel on the 0 frame. I think that’s it for 2019.

I didn’t get rid of any . But seems to me I got a VH 16 0 frame 26” , VHE 12 1 1/2 frame 26” , VH 12 2 barrel 2 frame 28” 30” , DH 10 2 frame 30” , DH 10 3 frame 32” , DH 12 3 frame 28” , DH 12 3 frame 32” , VH 28 gauge 0 frame 26” , Grade 1 10 gauge top lever 2 frame 2 barrel 26” 30” , Grade 1 10 gauge 3 frame top lever 30” , GH 10 gauge 3 frame 34” , PH 10 gauge 3 frame 32” , AH Fox 12 gauge A Grade upgrade 30” , WIN Model 12 12 Heavy Duck 30” , Browning Broadway 12 gauge 32” and a Browning Belgian A-5 Lite 12 26” . I’m quite sure I’ve left out something shotgun wise and certainly left out the rifles but most of the rifles I acquired this year were utilitarian and or built guns . I will add I have my eye on a rather decent little MAnnlicher Schoenauer Model 1903 carbine in 6.5x64MS that I suspect may very well be in my possession before 12/31/19 LOL’s !

The Parker that made me a first time Parker owner, a 1929 DHE 16 ga. with 32" barrels, and a fitted set of 32" barrels in 20 ga.

In the process of selling off a few that I don't shoot anymore.

To be continued............

This has been the year for small bores for me. And it is not over yet

Chuck Bishop 12-13-2019 07:51 PM

Only 1 Parker but I had to sell a couple of Parkers to help pay for it but it was worth it. A GH 28 ga. with 28" Special Steel barrels.

I'm trying to downsize, cut back on double gun buying.

So I bought a nice little 20g / VHE / straight stocked / single trigger gun at the Vintagers, from Josh.
I said I was "trying"

Craig— Do NOT let the MS 1903 6.5 get away under any circumstances. Jeff

Id rather get a later made version like an MC or MCA . This things a low comb gun like my MS 1908 8x56 . But it does have a Pachmayer side flip mount and it actually lines up pretty well . We have it at the shop and I play with it every day I'm there . Can't say I'm much on the flip over mounts but I have the exact same mount on my MS MC 308 and it shoots very well when I have my ducks in a row .

This year I added a nice Parker Trojan 16 gauge purchased from a member of this site, and I also just purchased a Lefever 12 gauge with Damascus barrels in excellent condition. I hope to post some photos when I get them to the range in the near future.
Tim
