New member old gun 7 Attachment(s) Hello all, We have a family heirloom that was passed along to me which I cannot keep do to the fact that I am not currently living in the U.S. (non-military) and cannot import it. I am in the U.S. now though trying to get this and a few other things sorted before I go back. My parents’ house is in Jacksonville, Florida. I read through the forum advice and what I thought was pretty straightforward instructions turned out to be a really time consuming job! I think I’ve gathered the correct information though and am really interested in your opinion of what it’s worth. This gun has literally been in my fathers’ closet for about 30+ years and has never been shot by him or me out of fear of damaging it. We have the following: Parker Brothers Double-Barrel Shotgun Side by side Hammerless 12-gauge SN: 156611 Date: 1911 Grade: 0 - V Vulcan Steel Frame size: 2 Weight: 4 (6) Barrel: 32” See attachted photos. Thank you in advance for your help. |

Jonathan, Thanks for your courtesy and congrats on a nice gun. I wouldn’t believe I am qualified to appraise your gun, but it appears to be a nice gun. The most desirable quality of it in today’s market are the 32” barrels. I would encourage you to join the PGCA, determine a price and list it here, you can join on-line and be ready to post for sale very soon. |

Hi Jonathan, That didn't take you too long to post your first thread - welcome aboard!!! BUT... Only PGCA Members are allowed to post Parkers for sale... So - here's what let's do... I'm going to post this, and you will get an e-mail of this reply. In this reply - you'll see a few links to becoming a PGCA Member. This is the first link: http://parkerguns.org/forums/payments.php Or - you can go to the main page: http://parkerguns.org/ and click on "Membership" - and that will get you set as well... In the meantime - I'm going to Soft Delete this thread - and when you become a Member supporting the PGCA, I'll undelete it. Sound like a plan? Best to you! John D. |

I agree with Mike McKinney in that the most desirable quality of your Parker is the 32" barrels..... in fact, the real value (which is not a lot) is in the barrels themselves, the rest of the gun has been "ridden very hard." With no offense intended sir... . |

My opinion if barrels check out good $300 to $400. |

No offense taken. I know my Granddad used it quite a bit in his day! |

The value in your gun is the fact that it is a family heirloom. You should try to figure out someway to take it with you. Monetarily the value is pretty low. |

Thank you Wayne. I guess so. The estimates are pretty depressing. My feeling is that it is worth more. A lot more. Possibly the lighting is not good enough. I will try to post new photo's as soon as possible. That will be next week as I am traveling at the moment. Thank you all for your input, Jonathan |
