Letter for 'Lifter'
I just received a PGCA letter for my Parker, #10250. It was ordered by an individual listed as 'G.I. Moorhead' in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. The date given is October 13, 1877. The cost was $50.00, which must have been a tidy sum, especially for a 'field grade' gun. My gun is still in its original configuration. I will have to see if I can find out something about this fellow. I found some interesting websites for various counties in Pennsylvania. The only catch is, unless someone enters specific info (due to their own research) G.I. Moorhead's name may not be found.

There are several Brownsvilles in Pennsylvania
if you figure out which county you might want to spend some time on geneology web sites - such as http://www.pagenweb.org/ I would look to bracket the date with the 1870 and 1880 census records - if you find him it will give you information about his profession and holdings |
I never thought about multiple Brownsvilles. I was searching in Fayette County.
