since cold weather is nearly here just thought i would remind every body to have their anti freeze checked to make sure the car or tractor or what ever want freeze up....good hunting....charlie

I ain't gots no tractor and it don't get quite cold enough here in the deep south but I do like to fill up my personal antifreeze on occasion. For that I usually take a medicinal dose (or three) of the Pappy VanWinkle, warms you right down to your toes, it does. Yup, the old Pappy, smooth as new born calf.

Couple years back my Deere John diesel didn’t want to start half the time when it was cacacold outside . Now part of it was a weak battery . But that’s been remedied two fold . New battery and that one stays in a heated garage now :cool:

Snow on the bushes at front door this morning. In Galena, IL. first snow this yr.

We got our first dusting 29-30 September. Spokane got a serious dump of heavy wet stuff that downed a lot of trees and powerlines on South Hill about 10 October, but only a dusting here 19 miles ene. Got about an inch yesterday afternoon and it is 14 degrees on the deck here a bit before dawn. All very strange. Normally don't see white stuff until mid-November. Got the Michelin X-Ice on my Wife's car, but not mine yet.

Temp's here are in the mid-teens with 6" of snow & more coming through tomorrow. The ski areas are reporting a record amount of snowfall for the month of October. Winter has arrived early here in Colorado.

It's a good thing I checked the anti-freeze back in September being as this is our third hard freeze this fall.
