Could use help with a DHE
3 Attachment(s)
I have a DHE with the serial number 188912. I’ve investigated a letter but none exists for the gun. It’s been fully restored (see pics) with 32” barrels choked LM-M. It has a Miller Single Trigger and was apparently configured for trap(?). It’s a favorite clays gun of mine. I’m interested to learn more about it but seem to have run into a dead end. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

It appears to be a Del Grego restoration including a restock using American black walnut.

Yes Dean, the cyanide case colors and the flute in the comb are telltale signs of a delgrego restoration. And the American Walnut is further evidence of a restock as the gun would have originally been fitted with circassian walnut.
A look at the frond iron and forend loop on the barrels will tell if it was originally a beavertail gun or not. In regards to the trigger being configured for trap, I would wonder if the trigger has a barrel selector or not. Or if it is non selectable. In my mind, a target gun would not have as much need for a barrel selector. |
Many thanks, Dean and Brian, for your observations. I was told when I bought it that it was a Del Grego restoration but I wasn’t sure myself. Good to know. One of my favorite Parkers given chambers are open and shells cheap.

Selector on the safety or no selector? Either way, a great gun for all around use.
