Picked up a SPE 12ga for a song. Interesting gun. Straight grip, beavertail, single selective trigger, original Jostam pad.
I believe about 175 SP(E)'s were made in 12ga. So a gun not normally encountered. The stock and trigger guard have been properly redone, the bluing on the action and barrels appears original with almost no wear. I'm not a fan of straight grip, beavertail and single trigger but the "package" looks really great and is much better looking than a Model 21 Winchester in my opinion. It's really too bad Savage couldn't make a go of it in the marketplace. |

and it looks just as good or better in person
but the moral of the story is to keep hunting - there are still treasures to be found by the diligent seacher |

Tony could build you one of those, no problem.

Nice find Craig. And most anything is better looking than a 21.
The only thing uglier than a win 21 is a win 24. |

Hey!! We had two Model 21 Skeet Guns with the "Sunday Morning Joy Boys" squad at the Spokane Gun Club today. Pretty nice guns!!
	My 16-gauge -- Attachment 75189 Ithaca NIDs aren't all that bad either, 12-gauge No. 4E Skeet Gun -- Attachment 75190 |

Likewise I think the Ruger Gold Label was a good looking sxs but theres people who think round body doubles are ugly . I still stand by o/u's not being attractive , to me its sacrificing having class to have a maybe a little more practicality . :rotf: |

I enjoy all kinds of shotguns. I even use those pieces of "farm machinery" Winchester Model 12/42s, Remington 31s & Remington Sportsman.

I'm not a Model 21 fancier as such , but we had a 21 16 gauge skeet gun in the shop a few years ago and I tried my best to buy it off the customer . That gun felt really nice in my hands !
As to NID's I've got an NID Grade 2 10 Super that I like just fine and I have all intentions of getting an Ithaca NID 10 magnum (preferably Grade 2 to match the other). As to O/U I see NOTHING wrong with the old Browning Belgium made Superposed guns and happen to have a good sized covey of them at the moment in all gauges . I also see nothing wrong with Remington Model 32's , Krieghoff K-32's K-80's and K-20's . And it goes without saying the Boss Woodward and Purdey O/U's were in a class all their own . Nothing wrong with liking what a person likes just be easy about the way one words it . |
