20/28 ga A-1 Special?
Robin Hollow has a 20/28 ga A-1 Special with a serial # in the 20,000 range
. http://www.gunsinternational.com/Par...n_id=100154760 What gives? I never heard of a 20/28 ga set, and a 20,000 SN? Engraving doesn't look original Repro either. Nice gun though. Joe |
Joe, It's a Parker Repro..
|
Serial 20-XXX is a legitimate Repro serial number. The barrels are the mystery. 20 and 28 gauge Repro barrels are for different frames.
|
A good friend of mine just purchased a nice 20/20/28 ga repro set at auction in CA

Could it be one of the Galazan unfinished A-1 Repros? There were a number of different gauges.
|
I saw that gun come up and wondered about that gauge combo? 28 ga. 00 frame barrels do not fite 0 frame guns? Never found any info from PR that they made them. Im sure theres a special story behind it all....
|
David, maybe you could find out for us who made the 28 gauge barrels for your friend's Repro. Of course, if this is a Petersen gun, anything is possible. A friend just bought a 16 gauge K-80 that belonged to Petersen. Apparently, Krieghoff built it.

It was a Peterson gun. I will try and find out some more about it. He got a great price on that gun! David |
Dave, I know it's a Repro (read my post again), that's why I posted here. Bill, I got confused since Repro SNs are written 20-138, not 20138. I'd love to know how they got the 28 ga bbls to fit the 0 frame. I like the engraving. Gournet perhaps?

It turns out the Patterson gun is a 28/28/ 410-original on a OOO frame, The barrels are marked OOOO but are OOO. Sure wish I had bid on that guy!
