Thank You PGCA and Lefever Collectors
Dear PGCA and Lefever Collectors,
We want to thank you all so much for the investment that both associations have put into youth shooting! The youth shoot at the Southern Side by Side this past weekend seemed to be a big success and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing youth competing with side by side shotguns. We brought down two youth shooters of our own from Lynchburg, Virginia. Bobby Fariss, age 14, and Harrison Fariss, age 10. They shot in the event and had a blast! They shot very well and look forward to coming back next year. Bobby and Harrison are both members of a local SCTP (Scholastic Clay Target Program) youth shotgun team. However, this was their first ever competition experience while shooting side by side shotguns. Next year we hope to see the event grow even more and we plan to spread the word and bring more participants from our local SCTP team. Thank you again so much to the PGCA for donating a beautiful gun that was given away. Thank you as well to Lefever Collectors for donating a $100 gift certificate that was also given away. I cannot express the joy that it brings me to see youth fall in love with the shooting sports and with side by side shotguns and to be a part of it is the greatest reward of all! Sincerely, Mark and Jon Britton |
I have pics of all the kids shooting the competition. I'll post them tomorrow.

The kid pics are in the Southern sticky. Eleven shooters total.

Hope we can have more shooters next year in the event, those kids can shoot pretty darn good! They are the future, and we need to do all we can to make these youth shoots successful, Gary

Thank you Mark for the feedback. Glad to hear everyone had a great time. I enjoyed seeing the parents coaches out there helping the shooters. You could tell there was a lot of heartfelt pride for the participants. Please do help spread the word about next year’s event.

The father of the 10yr. old called me last Sat. and said they were on the way to the 4H livestock show and sale, when his son Harrision said I don't care about winning I just hope my calf sells well. Why the dad asked ? I hope I get enough money to buy a SXS shotgun like the one I shot at Sanford last weekend. The seed has been planted ! And one sprout is up !

I think we’re on to something.

OK. Who's gonna buy the calf?
