Pitting

Anyone used Dean Harris for excessive pits in twist barrels. If so what was the results? These are mostly in the front half. Thanks.

I just had him do a backbore, choking and lapping on a set of "new" sleeved barrels for me on a Lefever. The job was PERFECT! The finish looked like factory new mirror.

This was on a 16g. that was sleeved to 20g. choke bored tubes for 20g. could not be had in the length I needed. So the bores were punched out after the fact with the chokes that I wanted. The job was done knowing that this was going to be needed to be done, so the walls were left thick enough for it.

Can this person sleeve a 16 gauge gun to 20? I need this done to a rare 16 gauge Prussian Daly hammer gun.

To clarify... Dean Harris only did the backboring and lapping on the barrels I mentioned. Not the sleeving work.

Bill, if you want to contact me privately, I can tell you who did the barrel work and you can i quire with them on the willingness to work on your gun.
