Engraver error: what have I got?
9 Attachment(s)
Passed down to me. Has been in a closet for 20 years. I know it is 1913, but has anyone seen a misspelled engraving like this before? Stock isn't original I have been told. Rated at 50% by a local gun shop. They told me that this gun was over their head. Can you folks help?

Saw a 12 g. Trojan where Parker was misspelled on one side at a Parker shoot in Michigan about 15-17 years ago. That gun had also been restocked. As I recall the owner said the wood had come from a walnut tree that had once stood on the family farm.

Isnt that something. Not the wierdest thing that I have seen, or heard about, but it is up there.
|
Might be the engraver did the right side before a liquid lunch......

Dean, exactly what I was thinking.
|
Does the error increase or decrease the value do you think? Or neither.
|
In my opinion, considering the overall characteristics of the gun it has no impact on value.
|
IMO, neither. It is simply an interesting anomaly.

Josh,
The Parker Trojan is a workhorse. Good dimensions, handles like a dream and gets the job done. I purchased one in original well kept condition for $450. I did get a good deal on it, but this is an indication of about what your Parker is worth. Kindest, Harry |
Thanks!
