J grade? but that's what the book has? 28 inch is probably what your looking for.

20----Bore
28----Length of barrels in inches

Seems odd that tha Trojan is the only grade (non-grade?) of Parker where the grade stamp on the action flats and barrel flat of “OV” doesn’t match the “J” as recorded in the books and none of it makes any reference to the barrel steel “Trojan”.

I personally think that Charlie Price came up the most practical & concise abbreviated codes to compile the records from the stock books and the limited viewing of the order books. The "J" not only covered the grade , but also the type of steel in the barrels----Tro"j"an-----an arduous task for Charlie.

Allan - I’ve never had that explained to me before.
Thanks for that. If it had been recorded as “T” it would have been confused with Titanic or a grade 3.

Do you know the meaning of “OV”?
