Long legged Sterly
1 Attachment(s)
Here is a picture of my "new to me" 16 bore 32" Sterlingworth. My Duck Club Brother Craig eased the pain of a recent gun trade nightmare by allowing me to purchase this scarce little beauty from him. A kind gesture from a Great friend
I shot it for the first time yesterday afternoon. Plenty of choke and fits me well! Every bit of a "sweet spot gun" with little use and much condition! Should be hell on ducks this fall. Thanks again Craig! |
Mighty nice gun! I sure wish those 32" guns would cross my path!

You're a lucky man. That's a rare one for sure. I have a 30" small bore Sterly but no 32's "yet". I'm curious, what does it weigh ? Congrats BTW !!

Randy -
I believe it weighs just over 7 lbs. .37 and .40 min. wall thickness. |
Light enough you could carry it for an occasional pheasant and yet enough weight to absorb some recoil. I really like that gun !

he pulled the trigger and then you could tell he didn't know where the target went and was looking for it thing is - it just pure didn't exist any longer -there had been nothing to see but a small puff of fine dust for a split second that blew away in the wind before he knew it was hit. and he kept that up through the round |
As some may know Mark has a soft spot for 32" small bores. The 32" 16ga Sterlingworth is the only one I have ever handled or owned in decades of collecting Fox guns. I know of two others one a Utica era gun and a second Philly gun. Many advanced and long time Fox collectors have never seen or handled one----they are very scarce. Only one 20ga 32" Sterlingworth is known.
I am lucky to be friends with a bunch of gun collecting and hunting brothers that have the same passions as me. Mark was kind enough to sell me a nice Super Fox he picked up in Maine last year so selling him the 32" Sterly was just repaying him for a big favor. Craig |
I am not a Fox collector or shooter, but I too like those long barreled small bores and I appreciate your friendship!
|
I love long barreled small bores. No Fox's (a 30 inch 20 if that counts) but a couple of Parker" s, two 16's and a 20. Congrats Mark on a nice addition:bowdown:

Mark, enough about the guns. Who made your pouch?
