need help with a Trojan
I am in need of a little help before I mess things up. I have a Parker Trojan that I wanted to remove the stocks to have re-checkered. I followed VH20's very good instructions on removing the butt stock. This went well and I got it put back together with no trouble. I now have to re-cock the hammers, I am not sure how to do that. Thank you for any help you might be able to offer.

Hook the barrels up, close it, snap on the forend then open it up! Cocked!

There really was no need to remove the stock for checkering. Unless you were sending it out and did not want to send the action with the stock.
But, anyway, rick is accurate. Just put the gun together and open it up. Simple. |
Actually, it is better not to remove the stock unless you really need to. Stocks can be refinished without taking the gun apart. Just tape off the metal. Its safer to leave the metal in place. I have seen people sand off too much leaving the wood lower than the metal. Also, it is easy, if you are not extremely careful, to break off a sliver of wood from the tang. I have seen this on a lot of Parkers. Better not to take the gun apart if one is not familiar with how it is done correctly.
