A Little Help Please

I have an opportunity to buy a Parker at what seems a fair price. I have not seen the gun yet but the seller describes it as a 12 ga DHE in fair condition, no rust. The serial no. is 172938 which translates to 1916 production. Can someone tell me what the serialization book says? I would appreciate knowing as much as possible before making the trip to look at it.

Thanks Robin. I assume the long barrels will add some premium value to the gun. I think I'll look a bit further.

Long barrels are currently in vogue. Most would pay a bit more for 32s. Do you know the weight or frame size? A 3 frame would be a premium as well.

Does it have ssbp or a pad. If a vent recoil pad that would hurt value.

I'll have to take a close look this week. I know nothing more about it. We'll see.

I looked at this Parker and it is a 12 ga.DHE with 32" uncut barrels on a 2 frame. The stock appears original but likely refinished and a 60's vintage white line pad installed. Stock appears uncut and is 14" to end of wood. Checkering is heavily worn. No cracks seen. Barrel bores look good but a few pits on the outside with blue at 40%. Now the deal breaker for me was the fact that the fore end lug was re-soldered and the barrels do not ring. I suspect it was heated too much and the original solder integrity was compromised.

I have no interest in this gun but if someone else does I would be happy to put you in touch with the seller. PM me.
