Duck Hunting in Cleveland

never mind, I answered my own question.

Rick Losey 07-26-2018 10:19 AM

city parks are usually hot spots for mallards

Unless You’re Harvey H Brown.... now THERE was a great duck shooting gentleman who owned a grade 6 Parker 12 bore. He was also a champion pigeon shooter who won the Lorillard medal but sent it back in protest. He lived on Euclid Ave. in Cleveland known at the time as “millionaire’s row”. I went to find his mansion back in May but Cleveland Channel 5 stands on his address today.

My decoy carving mentor once made up a bread slice decoy to be used in city parks. Tongue was firmly in cheek

Funny... Mentor is just east of Cleveland right on Lake Erie.

I missed Mike’s original post. Are the posters here (bread slice decoy?) suggesting that hunting the big water of Lake Erie in proximity of Cleveland is like hunting mallards on a local pond? Fill me in before I take offense.

Just idle chatter Victor - no offense intended.
