'D' grade barrel ID

Would anyone know what a stamped capital letter 'K' means ? It is located on the barrel flat of a D grade Parker Bro's. sxs built about 1900. Bob H.

We believe it stand's for "King". Mr. King was Parker Bros.barrel inspector and future superintendant.
