DHE Question

I saw a DHE for sale advertised as being all original without alterations. It has a DHBP. Were grade three ever made with buttplates other than skeleton steel??

Generally speaking a DHE would have either a SSBP or a checkered butt.

Well, that was my assumption too. Apparently, the seller either isn't knowledgeable or is misrepresenting the gun. Or...

I could also be fitted with a Silvers pad or Hawkins pad but if the customer wanted a DHBP he could order it. A letter would confirm that. Never say never but probably not.

I had a “C” grade that lettered with a Dogs head butt plate #90681 so never say never

Be cautious of the gun. Close inspection of details and verification of records will be very important.
