The "Thistle"

What is the true term for the "thistle" found at the leading end of the forend wood? Funny that the Parker Gun Parts under the technical tab show all the parts for the forend latch but I don't see the "thistle". Anyway, just curious. Cheers, Jack

Jack, I like to call it a thistle too because it resembles a thistle blossom, but it is referred to as the "forend tip."
