I put them on Gunner's Gun no complaints.

They are great. The beads are a little large and the shank may be a bigger thread pattern than what you have. But with a Dremel tool they can be made smaller and the shank can be cut down so they will thread into the existing hole. A little super glue will keep them in place. The only thing with an ivory sight is that it can be broken easily when dragging it out of the gun safe or hitting it in the field, especially if you have reduced the shank size to fit the existing hole. Make sure if you reduce the shank size you do it all the way to the bead. Otherwise it won't go all the way into the hole and will sit up too high and look bad. I know from replacing one at midnight and had to waste one that had to be drilled out and a second one made, on a gun I was going to use the next morning.

Every gun I own that didn't have an original ivory bed on it has a Brownell's (or NECG - same thing) front bead. Love 'em! J. A.'s cautions are spot on however.

You definitely want to trim them down, they're pretty large for a Parker.

NECG used to offer two different sizes but I think it's only one size now. I did resize the last ones I fitted.

Are these real ivory beads or are they made from raccoon penis bone?

Brett Hoop 03-14-2018 06:30 PM

Little bigger than coon, Mammoth.

That's an understatement. They look silly. Kinda like the globe at the '39 Worlds Fair.
