source for 8 gauge shells?
Is there a source for new loaded/ ready to shoot 8 gauge shells?
I am not a reloader. I know nothing about reloading and not certain I want to get into reloading. Just curious if there are any reliable sources out there. Thanks. Also for those that know and have experience. Is there such a thing as a lite 8 bore load. I would like a 1 1/2 oz load of #7.5 at around 1050 to 1100fps at like 6500 to 6800 PSI. (does this load exist?/ can it be done?) |
John I have had Tom Armbrust do custom 8 gauge loads for me. I believe all of the loads Tom did were above 8000 PSI. I had some 1 1/2 oz of 7 1/2 loads made up.
Tom also sells his book. 4 and 8 Bore shotguns and loads. I am quit curtain Tom can answer any questions you might have on any loads you might need. John did you find an 8 bore? |
Mr Carr,
Thanks for the info. I have tried to read as much on our reloading forum under 8 bore stuff. Mr Armburts name comes up time and time again but I cannot find a contact number for him. His website does not have one either. If you or anyone has a contact number please PM me if you would please. I am looking for an eight bore and would like to get one. Hope you are well. All my best. |

John, there seems to be quite an array of unsold eight gauge Parker guns in the last RIA auction. Maybe one of Daryl Middlebrook's Parker eight gauges in the March Julia auction would do the job for you. Are you looking for a hammer gun or a hammerless, a shooter or a collector? I would be glad to help you pick one out. The market is depressed for eight gauge Parkers right now, so it is time to buy.

Hammer or hammerless does not really mater.
I would love 34" barrels but would settle on 32"ers. Would love a graded gun (but this is a want not a need) . I know this will sound weird but I don't want one too heavy. Around 11 to 12 lbs would be ideal but I understand I must be flexible. Definitely don't want a 14 pounder or more. I plan to shoot the gun. Obviously not a lot but about twice to three times per year. So about 300 shells per year give or take. The eight gauge realm is very new to me. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your help and advice and insight. Everyone have a great weekend. |
Tom a just made some shells for me. You need to get the Winchester industrial hulls and he can reload them. Great guy too btw
