Early 10ga. Back Action Lifter
9 Attachment(s)
Here is Parker #46…a 10 gauge with 30” laminated steel barrels. I am very excited about this one though there are a handful of condition issues. I do like the engraving on the gun, especially on the top tang and the trigger guard. The only serial numbers I could find are on the barrels and receiver. I didn’t see any serial numbers on the forend, wedge, or the one hammer I think is original. The locks are rebounding so it may have gone back to Parker at some point.
The big issue is the left barrel has a small hole 4” from the muzzle in addition to heavy pitting in both bores. The left hammer is a non-Parker replacement. I need a new lifter button screw and forend tip. Someone tried to re-fit the barrels, which are now loose. One question I had was could the barrels be sleeved in 12 or 16 gauge? I would like to give this gun some attention/restoration and am interested in suggestions. Thanks, Jay |

More pictures...also no proof marks or any marks for that matter on the barrels other than the serial number on the lug.

I like it!!!

I wouldn't sleeve a gun that early. Maybe you could find some orphan barrels somewhere.

Despite the barrel condition, it looks to be in decent shape for a back action

nice old gun..i have one just like it in 10 ga..in fact i got it out today and oiled her up...i would have those barrels welded up and shoot the old gal with light loads...my barrels are pitted from one end to the other i have shot it a lot....charlie

Charlie, that is just what I wanted to hear! It would be fun to shoot this with some brass shells and light black powder loads.
I do think I have a set of 12 gauge barrels that could be fitted as well. |
I love those straight stocks on any of these old doubles.

Check with Briley's to see if they can fit some 20 gauge tubes to your bbls.

I bid early on in the auction. I e-mailed the guy for some more pictures and questioned him on barrel condition. He replied the barrels had a couple rough spots but were otherwise nice. Never saw any more pictures. Congrats and good luck with her.
