Confirming a DelGrego Restoration?

I have a gun that was believed to be a DelGrego restoration.
Before I actually call Delgrego to ask questions I thought I would ask on this site
of any other's experiences in doing this.
I know at DelGrego they have no computerized anything and don't even use e-mail.
Please share any knowledge of doing this.
Can they find any records if you have a name of customer?
Thank you,
Dale

I contacted them asking questions about a gun I had that I thought was "probably" worked on by them. I talked to them but my questions were not answered. I learned that their records are indexed by the name of the person contracting the work. So, gun ser#'s gets you nowhere. If you know who owned the gun you may have some luck?

They have files separated by customer name. Good luck.

Post pics of it. Delgrego “restorations” are easily spotted. Especially early ones.

I called Larry on a GH 28 gauge that I thought was a restoration by them. As already mentioned they do not track work by serial number. Larry offered to have me send him the gun which I did. He did confirm that the work had been done by his father. Excellent customer service.

If you don't want to go to the trouble of sending your gun to them you can mail them some good close up pictures and they'll help you out.

That doesn't look like Del Grego work to me.

That is not old delgrego work. It could be more recent work as he colors look like they could be turnbull colors. Turnbull currebtly colors delgregos guns for them. And notice how the checkering borders are not properly mullered. This is something i have been noticing of recently delgrego restored guns, checkering borders not being correctly cut. I dont know if they forgot how to do it or what???

So, the gun COULD be done by them in the last 5 years or so, or not at all.

Del Grego wouldn't be the gunsmith for Dale's gun. The screws are terribly damaged, probably before the refinish.
