Parker ID Help
I could use a little help on a Parker we are trying to appraise for an estate.
I am a bit unsure of the ID I have made so far. The serial # is 139203. This I believe makes it a 1906 and it is a grade 5. The problem I am having is this double has no engraving and the receiver and barrels are Blued. Receiver is not color case hardened. The condition is 95% and that is throwing me off also. It is just to new looking. The stamps are all authentic according to this websites ID pages. All help appreciated folks |
VH grade, 28" barrels, capped pistol grip
|
Yes sir it has capped pistol grip and 28" barrels. All the parker pictures I see show case hardened receivers. Could you tell me if this is a 1906 and is blued receiver factory finish? Possibly an appraisal range in excellent condition 20ga? Thanks,Roger

The gun was manufactured in 1906. It is a grade 0. The frame was case colored when new.

If the frame is blued, Then the gun is NOT 95% condition. Maybe 95% is left of a incorrect refinish, not original finish.
Figure on a realistic value of $500-700 as it is. Assuming it is complete. |
It's not a grade 5 and it's not a 20 gauge, and it's probably not worth what Mr. Dudley estimates. It probably has problems that go way beyond its non original finish. If it has no engraving, the original engraving has probably been sanded off. In theory, it may have no value at all if the barrels are not in great shape.

Ok I understand that the bluing changes everything.

Sigh......

Take a couple of closeup photos and we maybe able to help you somemore.
