Parkers Being Worked On

Normally I like to do my own gunsmithing BUT I know my limits. I've got three guns at Brad Bachelders - two Parkers and a English gun. Two are getting a shim. The Lifter only needed about a .001 and I couldn't get one that small to stick. For $100 he has them welded up and then machines them. Seems like a small price to make one tight again. He's also redoing the Damascus on both Parkers. Talked to him today and was told they're almost ready. He said one had a loose top rib he relayed . Kurt and Mark also have guns there - maybe the rib problem was theirs. Can't wait to get them back. Paul

Indeed, my 'Plain Twist' barrels should be done anytime now. The ribs on mine came loose and were soldered in place a long time ago. The barrels still 'rang true', though. It is a good thing that the barrels were made with ample meat left over to accomodate the honing that Brad just did! They were BAD! My 10 gauge Lifter has 'Laminated Steel ' barrels that still show some TLC. There is still quite abit of pattern left.
