I Need a Sear....
....for my 1879 vintage 'Lifter', specifically, for the right hand lock. Someone made a heckuva replacement, but it is not quite right! I bet that a sear just wouldn't happen to be laying around someone's shop, waiting for a new home! Cheers!

Sear
I have a lock that has resurrected three Parkers so far. It is from a top action, but I think the sears are interchangeable. It is from a two frame which should fit a 1,2,3.
What serial range is your lifter? Best, Austin |
My Lifter is number 15728, Austin. It has a number 3 frame. I have been bronze-wooling the barrels with good ol' No. 9 solvent and am surprised at the neat pattern that the Laminated construction has.

Lifter
The lock I have stripped is a laft; I'll look for a right. A file card will remove most spots of dark rust without removing metal. Tru Value and Ace have them usually hanging with the files.
Best, Austin |
Thanks, Austin. I will check my local hardware store. Also, thanks for looking for a sear!
