Keel thickness
Generally what's the thickness of the keels in a set of Parker barrels ?
|
Considering the fact that most keels were triangular in cross-section and the fact that different gauge barrels had different radii and the fact that there are a few different rib widths and tapers.... there is no single answer.

The one I saw was about a 1/4 if my mind is right

Generally they are from about 1" to about 1.5" and several keels are spaced along the rib.

This question is answered in the FAQ page.

I have pulled apart a lot of Parker barrel sets and usually the fitted and dressed muzzle keel is around an inch and is a triangular wedge shape. The rearward spacers between the tubes (there are typically 3, give or take) can be solid blocks or be a few stacked up layers. |
