Help with beavertail forend
I just had a gun shipped to me and I can’t get the barrel and the forend separated...I’ve never owned a beavertail before...is there something I’m missing or a trick to get them apart.
Thanks Shawn |
No Shawn, the beavertail comes off just like a splinter forend. Is the beavertail an original, have you checked the serialization book to see if it is original? Post the s/n and describe the gun and maybe we can determine if it is original.

Shawn, I'm not familiar with the Ithaca but try dry firing and then attempt to take it off.

I take it the forend is attached to the barrel and the barrel is not on the gun?
I have encountered this issue before with Ithacas and also a few Smiths. It is indeed tricky to get it off and difficult to describe the solution. |
