Restocking a 12g. Repro for a few reasons

This 12g. Repro DHE eventually suffered the fate that many do and that is a wrist break. Right behind the action tang. On top of that, the owner shoots a very long LOP and he has a couple inches of spacers and a recoil pad on the stock before it broke. The stock breaking was the deciding factor in him opting for a restock.
A new stock was made for it to match the dimensions of his original with the spacers added. A whopping 16" LOP over the recoil pad from the Single trigger. I beefed up the wrist a little to improve on the profile of the original reproduction stocks to both add strength and also improve the proportions of the gun. A sprayed Pro Custom finish in satin was used in order to mimic the look of the finishes used on the repros. The forend was also refinished and checkering cleaned up.

With new and stronger wood, this gun will shoot for a lifetime, plus some.

Nice job replicating the (Remington) Repro nose and the points.

How do you get such a beautiful tone to all your refinish/restocking jobs? Someday when I have the right gun with a pocketful of cash........................

Hey Brian...can you make and fit a stock for in A.H. Fox C grade? I plan to do a Sterlingworth ejector gun custom stocked for me. Have it engraved in the factory C grade style. I love the setter on the belly! SXS Ohio

Nice job Brian. That is a beautiful piece of wood you put on that repro.

Great gun, Brian.

I'd love to know the exact material used to finish the Repro's. What it lacks in aesthetics (on some) it makes up in durability and protection, especially in wet conditions.

Nice work Brian.

Urethane.

IMHO, urethane is durable, but often hides the wood's character
