Browning BSS Grade II 20 ga question?????

Did Browning make a Grade II BSS 20 ga with a pistol grip or were they all in "Sporter" configuration?

Dave Moore 09-02-2017 02:34 PM

I have one of these guns and it is the sporter style, I have never seen one that was not that configuration.

According to the Blue Book, the BSS had a pistol grip, while the BSS Sporter had a straight grip. Both were available in Grade 2.

I own a 20 Gauge BSS in the Sporter Configuration " Straight Stock " ,I have owned it since new ,it is a wonderful gun ! I have put thousands of rounds through her and it is as tight as when it was new ! I know this thread is about the Grade II but just thought I would mention it ,this has been my go to gun for years if I feel the necessity to shoot my best l :rotf: !

Anyone here ever personally see a grade II with pistol grip?

John Truitt 12-31-2017 11:08 PM

Yes,

I used to own one. 28 inch 20 gauge grade 2 with single selective trigger, beavertail forearm and pistol grip. It had very pretty figured wood on it.
Sold it years ago.

But they are out there
