Tje writtings of William Arthur Wheatley?
I recently became aware in my Buckingham reading that Nash's family friend Mr Wheatley wrote for various publications about hunting and dogs and such under the pen name Guido.
In my less than skilled searching of forest and stream via Google i have found 2 references to his passing including an account of what occured, but no actual writings by the man. I gind him to be one of my favorite characters Nash writes about so would be interested in his writings if anyone iscaware of where they can be read. |
if memory serves me right
(and it still does on a rare occasion) he wrote mostly for American Field - which was and still is a weekly newspaper type format, albeit slightly better paper I have rarely seen vintage issues from that time period offered for sale i would expect you would need to know specifically which issues to look for |
Thanks. I will have to research some more.

I have bound volumes of The American Field from Jan 1900 to June 1907, but missing the four volumes from July 1901 through June 1903. If you get any references in that time frame I could look them up.
When I was doing my research on the Money family, I found that the older son Noel E. Money went on a trip out west in 1895, and in November he was in Buckingham country, and shot at Wapannoca, Arkansas, on the 9th and 11th. On the 9th he shot with Neely and Wheatley, and took two Canada Geese and 104 ducks. |
