Here are a couple pics of a 16 bore German or Prussian ???? gun I acquired many years back in a multi-gun trade. I shot her a couple times without much scoring success so she has spent the last couple years holding up a wall in my office.

There are no names (manufacturer) on the gun. Plenty of proof marks - fluid steel barrels. Neat engraving with the cocking indicators and crossbolt.

Any knowledge or thoughts on this gun would be greatly appreciated.

Very nice! I've become enamored of these 16ga German Guns with the deep relief engraving. They are typically very finely made and make wondeful grouse and woodcock guns carrying at right around 6 pounds. They are a great value in my opinion as they usually don't bring big money. If I find a nice one I'll usually buy it.

Yours is a very nice example in my opinion.

I stand corrected - missed the 1.27 first view

and the pre Nazi crown marks are very similar to the post war

Sorry for short response earlier but I was "multi-tasking"..

You have a nice guild gun there. Should be great in the field and is probably made for 65mm shells which you can get from polywad (which I use for no particular reason) or some of the others.

Engraving quality on this double would be considered "average" for a guild...

Unlikely that you can ever find out whom made it....
